This shot almost didn't happen. We wanted this particular angle, but were pretty dissuaded by the distraction of a series of power lines and poles in the bottom left part of the frame. What? You don't see them? Right - that's because we spent three hours on the computer carefully replacing pixels to rid the lovely hotel exterior of such unsightly power lines. Consider it a labor of love to show off this wonderful hotel the way it should be seen.

San Antonio's Paseo del Rio is a pedestrian river walk of lush gardens, fascinating shops, and great bars and restaurants just one story below the downtown area. Cypress and palms line the walkways, providing shade and color to those who stroll. The Westin is located in the heart of the Riverwalk area, and is simply one of the great properties to line the river.

It was pretty amazing what Starwood was able to do with a relatively small parcel of land - create an oasis within an oasis - and to present 473 oversized guest rooms and 66 suites - along with meeting spaces, spa, restaurants, and great public areas.
