LOCATION: Cle Elum, Washington

SUBJECT: Exterior at Dusk

This beautiful property is perched on the sunny and/or snowy eastern slopes of the Cascade Range, looking down on the flowing waters of the Cle Elum River. Lush forests surround the property, offering many recreational opportunities at this all-season resort. We shot this image in the winter, and enjoyed a great time on their ice rink. Inter-tubing down a snowy hillside provided us with a real adrenaline rush. It was impressive to see all the opportunities Suncadia employees had to offer guests.

The snowfall brought this image to life - and shows the resort in its full winter best. The sunsets here can be tremendous, and we were treated to a beautiful mix of magenta and blue on this particular evening. Taken out of this image via Photoshop was a large waste basket at the bottom left corner of the frame, a couple of barren patches on the snowy slope, and a couple standing on the deck on the third floor camera left. They looked so happy, I just couldn't ask them to step inside - away from the view.

We were there shooting earlier last fall and had the opportunity to enjoy the hiking and championship golf course located on site - and had a great time exploring the cool town of Roslyn, Washington, where the well-known television show "Northern Exposure" was filmed.
