The Inn at Spanish Head is only a two hour drive from our house, but one of our favorite locations in the entire world. Built on the side of a cliff on the beautiful Central Oregon Coast, this structure has sweeping panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. It's a favorite for many in the northwest to visit in the winter, when large storms sweep in and guests can marvel at the huge waves and dark clouds from the safety and comfort of their perch at the Inn. But where this property really glows is in the bright sunny rays of summer - and the pool has a big part to play in the festivity.

Most properties on the Oregon Coast offer indoor swimming, if any at all. The Inn at Spanish Head is one of the rare exceptions that has a large swimming pool outdoors. That alone would be a standout feature, but it doesn't stop there. This pool is just steps away from the beach, and an access door allows sunbathers to switch easily from the sand and waves to sipping a drink poolside. In between the beach and pool is a small patio with tables to enjoy a meal in the afternoon sun.

If I sound excited about this place it's because I am. Long before they were a client, we would enjoy this place, winter AND summer, with our families.
