HOTEL: Drury Plaza Hotel Chesterfield

SUBJECT: Business Center

On a recent trip to a big city, I stayed at Hotel -------. I loved Hotel -------, but found myself needing ten minutes of internet and a printer. Having used the business center for what needed to be done set me back nearly $20.

Enter - Drury Inns and Suites. They are best known for their amazing breakfast buffets, manager's reception, and that fresh popcorn. But another great perk is the business centers are affordable. Way affordable. Like, well, free. And that is a very good price. Honestly, we shot a number of these business centers in a number of Drury properties, and my only problem with shooting them is that they're so darned popular. Nearly a body or two in every center I shot, regardless of the time of day. Of course, since it's free, these guests may be there for some time. It took some creative convincing, coercing, begging, and a veiled threat or two to get these shots the way we wanted - sans guests.

Pooled lighting was needed to bring the eyes quickly to details offered in the space. Notice the highlights on the printer and keyboard in the foreground. Again, details that would have fallen off if we didn't get the lighting just right.

Oh, and I'm just kidding about the veiled threats to the users of the business center, so far as anyone can prove.
