Ray's Boathouse is a bit of an institution in the Seattle area. Not the bad kind of institution, the good kind... the very good kind. Seattle is known for its breathtaking views, fresh seafood, it's cloudy skies and rain, and more and more often, its unrelenting traffic. Regardless, people around the area will sit in any kind of traffic to get to Ray's Boathouse.

Perched on the shores of the Puget Sound north of downtown, in the beautiful berg of Ballard, Ray's serves nothing but freshness and goodness on their menu. When we were sent to photograph the restaurant, it was a given that we needed to include the incredible view of the Puget Sound, and the snowy peaks of the Olympic Range across the water. Food with a view, what else could anyone ask for?

The parade of freshness started with shooting this beautiful halibut steak crusted with a sesame glaze, but didn't stop there. Dungeness crab, shellfish, and salmon flown in fresh from Alaska were all on the shooting menu for the day.
