SUBJECT: Infiniti Pool Area

A completely different visual take on the infiniti pool at the Hilton Los Cabos. Notice the overall vibe and how it differs from the sunset image. More informational than emotional, the image still pulls the viewer into the scene, hopefully enticing them into a sure-fire reservation. The tranquility of the infiniti pool, the comfort of the lounge chairs, the warmth of the sun all help tell the store of just why they should come to the Hilton Los Cabos.

From a technical standpoint, the challenge here was two-fold. First, we had to deal with three blues clashing with one another. The sky, the ocean, and the pool all had very similar hues. We had to deal with time of day, angle of the sun and sky in relation to the water, and a little bit of computer enhancement to create enough color contrast in these three elements. Notice the deep sky on top and how it becomes less intense as it meets the horizon. This allows us to take advantage of the natural blues that appear off the Los Cabos coastline. Then, the reflection of the open sky helped damper the blueness of the pool where it meets the ocean.

We also found it more effective when there were small ripples in the foreground of the pool to establish that it is indeed a pool. When it sat too still, it looked like a computer enhanced mirror image or something, almost to the point of distraction. So with a little push in the water, ripples were added to establish a more natural feel to the pool.
