Three things I think guests appreciate the most in regards to an on-site fitness center: televisions, new equipment, and clean surroundings. One thing least liked about fitness centers (at least in the eyes of this photographer)? Mirrors. Talk about an enemy to good photography - there's nothing worse than those frustrating wall mirrors. We've been able to light around them, but it takes time and patience.

We've noticed a good number of fitness centers playing a more prominent role as a cornerstone amenity. The quality of equipment has improved drastically in the last few years, as has the technology most properties offer to make your workout a little more entertaining, including personal flat screens with cable connections. Now if we could just convince them to get rid of the mirrors...
